liniar studio was created as the result of a set of thoughts and concepts that began to form for George Kourtis after about 10 years of working in acoustic engineering and consulting where traditional consulting models were used to deliver acoustic design guidance to clients.  The goal of liniar studio is to provide high quality acoustic design services including design direction and engineering to the AEC industry with a more integrative perspective using critical and design-thinking, but with a personalized approach that takes more advantage of the benefits of human interaction in design process.

George’s educational and professional background in physics, music, 2- and 3-dimensional conceptual design, engineering, and architecture have led him to a design approach that is unique among acousticians. While there is acknowledgement that some designs have simpler solutions that, after proper consideration, do not require a rigorous study exercise; he also understands that when challenges arise, the best designs start with rough general concepts that must be subjected to a process of refinement, sometimes as an individual, and sometimes in a group setting.
